One of the good things about Cusinart Food Processors is that parts for current models are pretty easy to find. Many dealers stock a ranch of accessories and parts for the latest models. But it can get a little tougher on older models, especially models that are no longer produced. Some of the larger local dealers may have some older parts and you can always check with Cusinart headquarters. But if both those sources don't have the part you need, then it becomes a little more tricky to find what you want. Here's some suggestions. Very old models: If you have a model that has been out of production for years you may have a difficult time finding a new part. But there are a few places that might have some used models that you can buy cheap and get the parts you need. First that comes to mind is eBay. Check to see if any used models that are similar (or that the parts are interchangeable) are for sale. You can also list in it in the I want category and someone may respond. You can also keep your eye on resale shops, garage sales, and flea markets for the models that might have the parts. Models that have been replaced: In some models there are newer versions. Check to see if the newer version parts will fit your older model. It's cheaper for the manufacturer to keep many existing parts and only add features or make cosmetic changes to updated versions. You might get lucky. Current Models: Cusinart is good about having both accessories and replacement parts available for any current model. Check with your local dealer fist, if he doesn't have it in stock he can probably order it for you. Many of the large retail stores that sell the Cusinart models may have the item you need right on the shelf. Sometimes You Should Just Get A New One: Like many appliances, sometimes it doesn't make sense to fix them. If the cost is the same as replacing with a newer model, then that might be your best long term solution. If you spend weeks without your favorite kitchen tool that's not a good thing. And even if you find the part, another part may go soon and now you're back in the same tough spot. Many of the newer models are very reasonable in price and have a warranty too. |
